SAG AWARDS...

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , , , , , , No comments

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last week and literally everyone looked amazing. Picking my best and worst dressed was pleasantly difficult...

 Creme De La Creme
Jayma Mays; clearly influenced by her on-screen character's forthcoming nuptials, looked like a contemporary  bride in this Georges Hobeika SS13 Couture gown. Kerry Washington made up for her previous sins at the Golden Globes in a crisp white Rodarte gown

Blue Belles...

Jennifer Lawrence caused a stir when she got up to collect her award in this Christian Dior gown which featured a slit across the knees. Nicole Kidman looked youthful in Vivienne Westwood Couture, clearly taking a leap out of Jennifer Garner's book. Amanda Seyfriend who is gorgeous in everything; channeled Old Hollywood Glamour in Zac Posen.

Sisters' doing it for themselves...

Ariel Winter is clearly on a winning streak in this nude Alex Perry gown . She can do no wrong! On-screen sibling Sarah Hyland seemed to be taking tips from Sofia Vegara in a figure hugging floor length Dolce & Gabbana dress in just the right shade of purple.

Nina in neon...

The flawless Nina Dobrev looked slender and elegant in this gorgeous Elie Saab dress. I love this colour so much! To save it from being too plain the gown featured a slash detail across the front to the back.

Really Though?...
I'm guessing Kaley Cuoco was trying to showcase her sense of humour in this Romana Keveza gown because she looked like a caricature. Rose Byrne on the other hand looked like she stepped off the set of a 1950s poltergeist movie in this Valentino gown.

Hair and Makeup...
I think Kaley was wearing a wig, it's the only way to explain why the cut was so unflattering. Sarah glowed with a bronzed face and nude lip.

The Best and Worst of the Golden Globes...

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , , , , , , No comments

The Golden Globes; an awards ceremony second only to the Oscars'!

We saw the anticipated return of Adele, a 'coming out' speech from Jodie Foster and a very special guest: Hilary Clinton's husband!! Here's my list of the best and worst dressed.

THE BEST...

Now I know a lot of people are trying to give this one to the original Jennifer in Ben Affleck's life but I have to disagree... The best dressed has to go to the usually plain Jennifer Garner in this sequinned Vivienne Westwood gown. She just looks so stunning

Taylor Swift used the red carpet event to once again remind her ex of what had been lost in this backless Donna Karan Couture gown. The front is a little boring which is acceptable because the back is just gorgeous. Eggplant is such a great colour on her too.

Yummy Mummy Adele made her red carpet comeback in Burberry channeling 60s ladylike and demure glamour in slimming black, while Yummy Mummy to be Kristen Bell glowed in her adorable Jenny Packman gown. Awww.

Striking gold again this year was 15 year old Ariel Winter in this sweet Valentino Resort dress paired with sparkly Benjamin Adams pumps (right). Simple makeup with a bright lip and THAT headband made Ariel look age appropriate and the envy of all prom queen wannabes.

The Latina Lovelies were without a doubt striking in their gowns! While J.Lo opted for super sexy in this Zuhair Murad sheer dress which fit like second skin, Jessica Alba stuck with cute in this coral Oscar de la Renta number.

THE WORST...

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera and Halle Berry in Versace were hands down the worst choices of the night. There are no words.

And surprisingly, two stars who opted for unflattering attire were Sophia Bush in Lisa Ho and Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. Sophia's gown seemed to drown her, making her look frumpy, whilst Kerry seemed to make no effort with hair, makeup or accessories and killed an otherwise gorgeous dress.

And So It Begins...

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , , No comments

Awards season is upon us which means lots of celebrities looking their best... and a select few looking their worst.  So let's begin with the People's Choice Awards....

BEST DRESSED...

Having just split from Harry Styles from 1D, Taylor Swift was on a mission to show him what he was missing and boy did she show him in this Ralph Lauren gown. Featuring a plunging neckline its no wonder the press are dubbing it the "Revenge Dress".

Chloe Moretz shone bright like a daisy in this Simone Rocha dress, teamed with these sophisticated Casadei pumps. Honestly, for just 15 she has some serious style credentials. In a style-off with Miss Alexa Chung (BFA: 2013), I definitely think Chloe took lead.

Now some publications no names (cough, cough Daily Mail) are suggesting Katy Perry made a style mishap wearing this Valentino dress but I think the opposite. It's very rare to see Katy looking demure and sweet. Usually over the top (which I love), Katy instead opted for vintage inspiration and I for one think it paid off. This dress has officially been added to my wish list!
Along with being on my Best Dressed List,  Katy deserves the Best Hair & Makeup award too! I love the gold leaf headband incorporated with the halo braid hairstyle. Along with her flawless bronzed face Katy achieves that understated, earthy, angelic look so many of us try to accomplish.

I think Lea Michele hired a new stylist because for once, she actually got it right. In head to toe hot pink Elie Saab, Lea looks cute. That being said, I wish she did something different with her hair (right). It looks like my hair before I get my weave sewn in; NOT cute!

WORST DRESSED...

Jenny, Jenny, Jenny!
Sigh, Miss Lawrence looks like she's just finished on Dancing On Ice and ran straight to the red carpet. Bat wings, shimmer and mesh??? This Valentino Couture dress is all kinds of wrong. Very surprising as Jennifer is usually a winner in the fashion stakes.

Now I dont hate this dress at all. In fact I really like it. My issue is with Jennifer Anniston IN that dress. Props to her for trying something different but she isn't exactly a spring chicken. Leather overkill at her age is a little cringe.
