And The Nominees Are...

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , No comments

Considering the BAFTAs took place a night before the Grammys I've been a little backwards with the posts. But here goes... My Best Dressed at this year's BAFTAs...

Gemma Arteton wore a Celia Kritharioti gown, nude and black velvet and one shouldered... this dress was lovely but Gemma should have taken it in at the waist where it looks a little baggy. The gorgeous Eve Alice also opted for nude and black in Alessandra Rich. The actress looked elegant and sleek.
American Actresses Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Garner chose gowns that drew attention to their upper half. Hathaway wore a gorgeous column gown by Burberry which featured mini reflective discs. My only issue with this dress is Anne. I've officially decided I just don't like her. Jenny on the other hand I'm starting to love. She's scored a hat-trick in this Roland Mouret monochrome dress, which does wonders for her figure.
Amy Adams for me was THE best dressed in Elie Saab Couture. Her lace gown which featured a huge slit provided her with just the right balance between elegant and sexy. She accessorised her look with gold Casadei sandals, ruby drop earrings and a high bun. #high5.
Beading is always a great showstopper. Case in point Elizabeth Olsen in Chanel Couture and Paloma Faith in Nicholas Oakwell. Olsen junior looked feminine and romantic in a black and white tiered gown that featured tassels. Miss Faith also looked feminine and romantic and surprisingly simple. A far cry from her usual cray accessorising.

Marion Cotillard and Andrea Roseborough brightened up the red carpet in yellow. Marion was slightly reminiscent of Jennifer Lawrence at the SAGs in her Christian Dior gown featured a similar but more prominent sheer panel across the knees. Andrea on the other hand in Vivienne Westwood, was reminiscent of Bella from Beauty and the Beast. Both ladies looked stunning though.

The Best and Worst of the Golden Globes...

BY Unknown IN , , , , , , , , , , , , , , No comments

The Golden Globes; an awards ceremony second only to the Oscars'!

We saw the anticipated return of Adele, a 'coming out' speech from Jodie Foster and a very special guest: Hilary Clinton's husband!! Here's my list of the best and worst dressed.

THE BEST...

Now I know a lot of people are trying to give this one to the original Jennifer in Ben Affleck's life but I have to disagree... The best dressed has to go to the usually plain Jennifer Garner in this sequinned Vivienne Westwood gown. She just looks so stunning

Taylor Swift used the red carpet event to once again remind her ex of what had been lost in this backless Donna Karan Couture gown. The front is a little boring which is acceptable because the back is just gorgeous. Eggplant is such a great colour on her too.

Yummy Mummy Adele made her red carpet comeback in Burberry channeling 60s ladylike and demure glamour in slimming black, while Yummy Mummy to be Kristen Bell glowed in her adorable Jenny Packman gown. Awww.

Striking gold again this year was 15 year old Ariel Winter in this sweet Valentino Resort dress paired with sparkly Benjamin Adams pumps (right). Simple makeup with a bright lip and THAT headband made Ariel look age appropriate and the envy of all prom queen wannabes.

The Latina Lovelies were without a doubt striking in their gowns! While J.Lo opted for super sexy in this Zuhair Murad sheer dress which fit like second skin, Jessica Alba stuck with cute in this coral Oscar de la Renta number.

THE WORST...

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera and Halle Berry in Versace were hands down the worst choices of the night. There are no words.

And surprisingly, two stars who opted for unflattering attire were Sophia Bush in Lisa Ho and Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. Sophia's gown seemed to drown her, making her look frumpy, whilst Kerry seemed to make no effort with hair, makeup or accessories and killed an otherwise gorgeous dress.
